Lifetime Service Award
In recognition of the extraordinary efforts that people make on behalf of Texas migratory students, the AMET planning committee is accepting nominations for the Lifetime Service Award in Migrant Education. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the advancement and/or implementation of the Texas Migrant Education Program through their active participation, dedication, and commitment.
Nominations will open on August 9, 2024 and close on October 21, 2024.

Lifetime Achievement Service Award
Category: Service Award- The award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the advancement and/or implementation of the Texas Migrant Education Program through their active participation, dedication, and commitment. No more than one outstanding individual will be recognized. The recipient will be honored at a general session during the AMET Conference.
Who is eligible: In recognition of the extraordinary efforts people make on behalf of Texas migratory students, the AMET planning committee is accepting nominations for the Lifetime Service Award in Migrant Education. This award will honor an outstanding person who has provided distinguished service and commitment to the Texas Migrant Education Program for at least ten (10) years. Nominations will be solicited statewide.
Persons wishing to make a nomination should submit a portfolio of information including a resume or description of their nominee’s accomplishments and a picture.

One-page narrative or resume that includes:

The events and/or experiences that led to the candidate’s involvement in migrant education.

A listing of achievements/accomplishments in migrant education, including participation in local, state, regional, and national committees.

The number of years of service in migrant education.

Any other relevant activities.

Articles written by or about the nominee's Migrant Education accomplishments

Picture of the nominee
As part of the nomination process, the nominator is responsible for submitting the portfolio to be used by the selection committee in its deliberations to jaime.miranda@utrgv.edu. Please note that No videos will be accepted, and that material must be word-processed and double-spaced.
All materials become the property of the selection committee and will not be returned.
