Scholarship Recommendation Letter Tips

  • Request recommendation letters early.

  • Give the writer at least two-three weeks to write you an outstanding letter.

  • Get as many recommendation letters as you can.

  • Save at least one original so you can make copies for future applications.

  • Local scholarships can accept copies.

  • National scholarships should receive original recommendation letters.

  • Write a thank you note/letter to the person who took time to write the recommendation letter.
