Welcome to the website for the Association for Migrant Educators of Texas (AMET). AMET was created to advocate for the over 36,000 migratory students and their families in Texas who are seasonally and temporarily employed in the agricultural and fishing industries. AMET also provides leadership and resources to educators of migratory students and serves as a voice for the Migrant Education Program in the State of Texas.
Our non-profit, statewide organization strives to provide critical professional development, learning opportunities, connection to resources, and networking through our annual state conference. We also promote post-secondary education through our scholarship program which awards annual monies via a competitive process.
Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our statewide association which has a clear and passionate focus. Please continue browsing our site so that you may learn more about who we are, what we do, and who we serve.
Please feel free to contact me or any of our AMET Officers or Regional Directors.
