Scholarship Tips

Scholarships start in your community. Visit the local high schools and make connections with the counselors and college advisers. Many local scholarships can be accessed in the counselor's office or the college career center.

Do not start with the Internet!!!

Be sure to check the websites of ALL local high schools. Many times different scholarships will be posted online. These are available to people in the community, including homeschoolers.

Another source for information is the college advisers at the local community colleges. Meet with them and ask questions.

Almost all scholarships require community service. Get started now, as early as age 5. Be sure to document your service.

If  you have the opportunity to attend a Path to Scholarships® workshop or leadership academy/camp, it is highly recommended. You will be guided step-by-step through the scholarship process. (See Links - Services Available and Upcoming Events & Workshops on www.empowermenttodayllc.com)

You may also purchase the Path to Scholarships® College Edition Workbook with portfolio pack at www.NeedCollegeMoney.com >Bookstore Link. It will guide you step-by-step through the scholarship process. The book comes with a CD which has all the forms you will need and a portfolio pack to keep all your information together and organized.
