Migrant Service Award
In keeping with its goal of fostering excellence in Migrant Education, the Texas Migrant Education Program will honor and recognize dedicated and deserving contributors to Migrant Education. Awards will be given to Migrant Service Coordinators, Educators, Paraprofessionals, Administrators, Recruiters, and NGS Data Entry Specialists for their distinguished service in Migrant Education through their active participation, leadership, and commitment.
Nominations will be solicited statewide. Persons wishing to make a nomination should submit a description of their nominee’s accomplishments on the Migrant Service Award Nomination Form. The honorees for each category listed below will be selected by each Service Center based on their length of service.
Definition of Categories
Administrators - Persons who provide outstanding support of the Migrant Education Program (i.e., superintendent, principal, coordinators and director.)
Educators - Professional educators who have actively participated in the Migrant program (i.e., teachers, facilitators and strategists and counselors).
Paraprofessionals - Paraprofessional staff (including home educators and instructional assistants) who work in the Migrant Program.
Recruiters - Certified recruiters who sign Certificates of Eligibility for the migrant program.
New Generation System (NGS) - Specialists who enter NGS Data.
