Association for Migrant Educators of Texas -
2009 Migrant State Conference President's Letter

Dear Conference Participants,

As passionate advocates for migrant families and educators, the Association for Migrant Educators of Texas (AMET) is honored
to host, in conjunction with Education Service Center, Region 2,
the 2009 AMET/Texas Migrant Education Conference. We are confident that you
will have a most memorable and educational experience as you enjoy the high quality sessions and amenities that the 2009 Conference Planning Committee has prepared
for you.

The theme for this year’s conference “Stimulating Minds: Anchoring Success” is a reflection of  the collective and professional community we represent.  As an educational community, we are committed to assisting in the success of all migrant children as they pursue their dreams.

In this conference forum, it is critical that we remain closely linked and share best practices that will ultimately enhance service delivery to all migrant children.  It is through these connections that we will be able to provide our students with the academic resources to see them through their educational journey.

With this in mind and in the spirit of collaboration, we invite you to register at your earliest convenience, and we hope that you seize the opportunity to meet new people, learn new practices, and share your expertise with other migrant educators.

We look forward to seeing you in Corpus Christi!

Sincerely,

Noemi Ochoa, AMET President

Sigi Huerta, AMET President Elect

Idalia R. Ibañez, Conference Host
