Norma Flores grew up in a migrant farmworker family. She began working in the cornfields in Indiana at the age of 12 and continued to work in the fields in the states
of Iowa, Michigan and Texas until she graduated from high school. Flores attended
the University of Texas Pan-American in Edinburg, Texas, and graduated with a B.A.
in Communications. She is currently the project manager for the Children in the Field campaign with the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs. She is an active advocate for migrant farmworker child rights and continues to raise awareness of migrant farmworker issues before national conferences and workshops across the country. In addition, Flores has testified to Congress and has appeared on national news outlets on issues related to child labor in agriculture.
